Episode #58

1.) The Dogs - More From You
The French power pop lovechild of the Only Ones and the Modern Lovers.

2.) Beat Happening - Angel Gone
If your listening to this podcast you most likely either love or at least have a notion of who Beat Happening were. Get the box-set, it's all good.

3.) The Magnetic Fields - A Chicken With it's Head Cut Off
From the 69 love songs set.

4.) Ween - With My Own bare Hands
I was reluctant to get this after the highly mediocre Quebec album, but I am glad to say that La Cucaracha is Ween's best effort since The Mollusk. As far as obligatory Ween rockin' tracks, the one this album could be their most awesomenest ever.

5.) Pavement - Here
Morning coffee and Pavement have been getting me to class lately.

6.) Beck - Hotwax
10 years, huh..that's odd.
7.) The Jesus and Mary Chain - Come On

8.) Mercury Rev - Opus 40

9.) Buddy Miles - Them Changes (video)
A moment of silence for Buddy

1.) Rocket From the Crypt - Ditchdigger
I think I'm going to be sick. The only place I could find this video was on the VH1 classics website. 93' is now "classic"?? RFTC rocked more socks than most and I wonder if they get the credit they deserve from the kids today. I am forever in·debt·ed to Ives.
2.) Spoonie Gee & the Treacherous Three - The New Rap Language
So many words. I don't think I say this many words in a day and they cram them all into eight minutes and twenty seven seconds. A sweet bass line, funky drumming, bongos it's all here. If I had one of these and some cardboard I'd be set.
3.) Delta 5 - Mind Your Own Business
Sweet things from Leeds in the late 70's; Gang of Four, Mekons, Delta 5. An amazing collection of material plucked from the out of print abyss in 2006 by Kill Rock Stars.
4.) Built to Spill - Randy Described Eternity
Since Built to Spill will be playing here on leap day I thought I would throw this one in. It's worth going to this show just to watch Doug Martsch's hands. Last Time I saw them they covered Cortez the Killer by Neil Young and it was worth the price of admission alone. Oh yea....the Meat Puppets are opening the show.
5.) Rocket From The Crypt - Young Livers

6.) Nar - The Longest Mile
NAR!

1.) Master Jay and Michael Dee - T.S.O.B.
Old School 1980 hip-hop, this jam is like an eight minute ass work out. Seriously if you don't shake your shit to this gem you have severe case of the whites.
2.) Orange Juice - Wan Light
With everyone collectively creaming themselves over Vampire Weekend for some reason I thought I would throw this in the mix. I still can't figure out how bands get so hyped up before having an album.
3.) Nikki & The Corvettes - Just What I Need
They sound like the Runaways without the balls of Joan Jett .
4.) Pixies - Head On (The Jesus and Mary Chain Cover)
The Pixies performing Head On on the Dennis Miller show (On on is that right?). On a side-note Dennis Miller is a complete Douche.

Dennis Miller being a Douche.

5.) Yo La Tengo - From A Motel 6
I have to be honest, this one fell threw the cracks. I had just about every other Yo La Tengo album but this one. I have been robbed for years, who the fuck have I been getting music advise from? Everyone gushes about I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One and while that albums is 10 and perfect and other platitudes you want to heap upon it I think Painful is under-rated.

6.) Nirvana - Sliver

7.) Adicts - Viva La Revolution
All you really need is the singles collection and face make-up.
